This lovely pair of early 20th century chalkware lamps of a French peasant boy & girl would look right at home in a country or traditional style house on a mantel above a fire place or on a side table.
The peasant boy is dressed in a red jacket with green pantalons and cravat and he carries a basket of fruit on his shoulder. The girl wears a red bustier style top with a long green skirt and an apron. She carries an urn and in the folds of her apron some grapes.
The lamps each measure 34cm high and the base diameters are 10cm. They have both been rewired to Australian standards and are fitted with brass B22 lampholders and 1.2m of cloth cord.
